Sorted - Decent High Gain Head & Or Valve Power Amp.

Looking for a decent high gain valve head, primarily interested in Mesa, VHT, Diezel, Framus, that type of thing.

Will also entertain a valve power amp that I could use with my Kemper.

Cheers!

  • Where are you?

i have a Mesa Stiletto Deuce head (Marshally sound at 50-100w) which I *might* let go, although I'd be looking to replace it rather than just get rid, with something of 30-50w of a handwired and voxy or Fendery nature with reverb and without too much pain.

  • Cheers for the offer but I literally just sold a Mesa Royal Atlantic, I'm primarily after something USA flavoured, probably should have said that!

  • No worries.  Saves me seller's remorse.  Good luck.

  • Hey, I have a Peavey classic 50/50 power amp for sale if you're interested?

Mesa MKI head, might not be high gain enough for you but you can jumper the effects loop and increase the send level to add an extra gain stage before hitting the power amp.

Also got a Lonestar Special but again that's more on the British side.

The last two on eBay went for 250 and 200 - how about 225?

Possibly.... Orange TH30 head - simple but versatile and very high gain, but tameable with the 15 and 7 watt settings...

    Marshall 20/20 stereo power amp?

  • Hmm, let me look into the Knucklehead, hadn't really considered a Rivera.

I'd need more power than the Marshall 20/20 unfortunately but thanks!

    Any Mesa Rectifiers out there?

    Alternatively, let me know how much you want for the D-Moll @Drew_fx ;
    ;)

I also have a Mesa Recto Preamp, 2:100 power amp rack setup for sale. When combined, you are effectively using a Dual Rec head.  Let me know if you are interested.

  • Cheers but just got myself a Triple Rectifier the other day!

Shame, I've always fancied one of those power amps as well!

  • How much were you looking for it out of interest?

  • Hadn't decided to be honest. Let me know if you (or anyone else) is interested, and I'll have a think.

  • Will do, would you be interested in splitting them at all?
0reaction image LOL 0reaction image Wow! 0reaction image Wisdom · Share on Twitter
  • Hey,

Since they were designed to be used together, and with the extra functionality that brings(such as the vintage mode being engaged when you switch to solo, effectively making it a three channel amp) I would prefer not to split them up. I'll let you know if I change my mind!

  • I understand, but please do let me know!
