    The costumes, the NIWDWM llama, the songs, that funny soup they have... Sure, it's a bit commercialised these days, but there's nothing stopping you baking your Whatever Pie and just having fun.

    My only gripe about National International Whatever day week month is that you never find out it's NIWDWM until you hear it on the news that day.  By which time you may have already smoked five cigs, or drunk half a bottle of brandy, or said something abusive to your neighbours, or been unaware of mental health, or whatever, so it's too late to properly join in.

    It would be nice if they announced it the day before.  Or maybe you could sign up to a NIWDWM alert service.

    It sounds like you're already participating!

    You can easily set up a reminder though. It's the third day of the third full week in the month after Moddlingfield Eve (unless that was a Thursday).

    I learned last week (I think) that it was national (maybe international, idk) daughters day.  Or was it daughter’s day?  Idk if the day properly belonged to the daughter, or if it was just a day for daughters.

    Anyway, I feel like every day is daughter’s day.  Or daughters day.

    Just like every day is Valentine’s Day.

    Mothers' Day is fine (never sure where the apostrophe should go though)
    Father's Day - an Americanism and ditto re apostrophe, but prob where I put it I think - not really fine because of the above.

    Overly concerned and axious to be seen to be empethetic person's day must be coming up soon.

    Does it do any harm though?  If someone has a positive thought, or maybe even does a good deed, for someone else because it's a "day", isn't that a good thing?  Everyone else is absolutely free to ignore it.

    Probably not, but I still wonder who is creating these events? Do media companies and other businesses who broadcast them want to know who has decided to create, maybe, "make America great again day" before supporting them or sharing the "event" further?

    In Victoria, apparently yesterday was Seniors Day. I only know because I popped out to the supermarket for a few odds and ends and the cashier said "Do you have a seniors card?".

    I said yes.

    She said "It's Seniors Day so you get a discount."
