Meris - new release 10.10.23, Mercury X reverb

Meris are trailing something new for release next Tuesday. Video clip suggests it might be a reverb, might be preset library software, or… something else. I don’t know. At least they’re not dragging things out for too long.

If it’s a reverb and it’s as good as the LVX, then my wallet might get lighter…

I’m leaning towards picking up an LVX. I’ve always appreciated the quality of the sounds out of the Meris pedals but the form factor and interface has always put me off ( not a fan of hidden controls, secondary function knobs etc )

If the new pedal is a reverb I’ll be keen to try that too. MIDI control, true stereo. What’s not to like?

The LVX is spendy but it is absolutely worth it. I had a Timeline as my main delay for years and it was easily my favourite until the LVX came along. There is so much to it, more than any other multi delay I’ve seen on the market. Having so many editable parameters available, and all the modifiers, etc. is a tweakers’ dream, though I’d highly recommend setting it to text view as opposed to the “bubble” layout for your preset parameters, as it is way easier to follow. If they are indeed releasing a reverb in the same form factor as the LVX, then it’s going to be brilliant.

Not helping my GAS!

I’m becoming more patient in my old age though, so I’ll bide my time and continue exploring my recent FM3 acquisition for stereo delays and reverbs in the meantime.

I think street was like £569 on preorders. It went up a bit once inventory landed to be in stock. If it’s close to that I’ll probably bite. The Mercury7 sounds incredible.

Very interesting that it has the CXM algos in it…. I had an LVX for a while and it sounded amazing but didn’t really have much use for it in the band and I found it weird that it only has 100 preset slots and 93 or so were taken. Also had a steep learning curve, for me anyway. Some of the sounds on the presets were massive and if I had the time to learn it I may have kept hold of it.

I purchased when it had just come out and it was maybe £689(!)

No denying the sound quality though!

Big Sky sold, Mercury X pre-ordered... worth giving it a go I reckon.
