    Hrm, that's a bit of a bugger. So the other thing is, which megacorp is currently offering an HMG approved verification system that you could just happen to use?

    Has all the hallmarks of CyberEssentials, a scheme that can only exist because someone bunged someone else big wedge to get in on the consultancy angle, and only survives because it's mandated for delivering government funded works.

    Y'know, the same thought had occurred to me.

    In defence of cyberessentials, it isn't a terribly high bar to clear and the requirements are mostly "your IT department is doing their job fairly well". 

    Cyberessentials plus, on the other hand..
