Plugged in my old Digitech RP-1 this morning.

It was the mainstay of my rig in 1992. Along with a Marshall Drivemaster & a Cry Baby Wah. 

I sold it in 94 and ended up buying a used rack system that I never got on with. 

So about three years ago I bought a used one for £30 off Reverb. 

I’d never really played it much. But today I decided to spend some time with it. 

While the presets are all horribly overcooked. The 4 tap delay sounds as good as the one on the Helix & on some ways sounds better. 

The Distortions are mainly awful. But the Heavy Sustain is almost Fuzz like & the Overdrive is useable at medium gain settings. 

Unfortunately the unit is experiencing distortion on the input signals & I don’t know anyone who repairs such things. Also the cursor buttons are starting to give up. But it’s 30 years old.

An interesting and fun time. But back to my pedalboard I think. 

Anyone else use the RP-1?
