  • Excellent - congrats!  That's one of my fave designs from the builders on here.

This is the perfect example for people who justify direct copies by saying that you can’t have a design that’s both original and good looking... they're wrong.

Thank you all for the nice positive comments, I've had mostly positive feedback from this model and it's become pretty much my favourite design to play, it's just so comfortable and easy to pick up

This one is my go to version at the moment because it's so versatile, HSS with split coil and blend pot, this is great for balancing this set

I will be moving the switch and jack socket on new models, this blue one was just a prototype.
I'll also be using a freeway 6 position toggle switch instead of sliding switches.

Stuart designed the pickguard so that'll always stay plus it's a great look, he had a good eye for aesthetics.

That's one of the very best things about it - graceful and distinctive.

For me, the only thing I don't really like is the bridge and tailpiece - I prefer more Fender-type designs, but especially I prefer vibratos. Although you could retrofit a Kahler quite easily ;) - the string pull through the nut is probably straight enough to use locking machineheads instead of the string clamp.

I've got a slightly bigger offset in the works because it'll suit different pickups and a jm trem or bigsby type, I don't have a problem with tuning on my headstock either

I'm building a walnut LP with duesenberg trem abm roller bridge with sperzel locking tuners, it's fantastic so far.

This pugilist model is specifically aimed at how I want an offset LP without the restrictions from the vintage police, I like how clean it looks with a stop tail or wraparound

    Here's the walnut build

  • Hi everyone I wanted to share this news, my pugilist model is in a wish list article in Guitarist magazine, it's been a long journey with highs lows and lots of grief.
Wish Stuart was here aka poopot to see this, he was a massive help nudging me to keep going.

I've got to build my version of a burst for a full review, better pull my finger out.

This model is my idea of fitting a LP into an offset shape and not be restricted by pure LP specs

    Congratulations

That looks fantastic. P90 and Alnico 'staple' pickups? Charcoal grey/black semi-transparent finish? That would be close to my ideal LP-shaped guitar...

This one is getting mojotrons with master volume and tone with a blend pot

I might put a freeway 6 position switch in for more tonal options.

This LP is thinner bodied and much more comfortable, it's also semi hollow to reduce weight.

Flamed English walnut with a walnut maple laminated neck to match

Thanks so much Daniel, let me know if you ever want to try out one of my hardtail/saddles, I don’t sell them separately but always happy to help builders out if they want to try something new

My name is Darren, my guitars are named after my Son who I lost in 2016.

I'd need a 12 inch radius 52mm spaced bridge, not sure if you do those.

I love that pickguard colour. Do you make them yourself from sheets? Or is there a uk source for good custom pickguard shapes.

Apologies Darren - I knew that too,
