Ibanez RG670DX Rare 1994 MIJ Fujigen Lo-Pro Edge & Dimarzio TZ & AN - Excellent!
Rare & original 1994 made in Japan (Fujigen) Ibanez RG670DX in Lazer Blue colour, in fantastic condition!
Upgraded Dimarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton humbuckers installed.
This is a rare model which was produced only for the European market in 1994 (IMHO at the time of peak quality Japanese Ibanez RG production).
Essentially similar to an RG770DX but with the improvements of an AANJ (all access neck joint) for easier upper fret access and the best double locking tremolo system ever used on an Ibanez: the original Lo-Pro Edge.
As a DX (Deluxe) model, this features a bound fretboard and headstock, with shark tooth fretboard inlays - all colour-matched to the Laser blue finish.
Neck is the original Wizard, with jumbo frets on a one-piece maple fretboard. Hardware (tremolo and tuning heads) is in cosmo-black finish. Tuning heads are Gotoh (Japan).
The Lo-Pro Edge is in tip-top condition, as I've always used ("Saddle Singers") brass bridge inserts to prevent wear (still fitted, as pictured). All screws and threads are in excellent condition (fine-tuners and locking nut) and the cosmo-black finish is similarly clean. Neck and body are both in excellent condition too (clean fretboard, tidy frets with no wear, no cracks chips or 'buckle rash' on the body), with no cracks around the neck pocket or the back of the locking nut, which can often affect other RG's of vintage.
Fit and finish is fantastic, as with every Japanese/Fujigen guitar. Only upgraded the things that needed doing: an uprated USA 5-way switch and output jack socket, and the installation of Dimarzio humbuckers in the popular Tone Zone (bridge) and Air Norton (neck) combo, as present on many top-range Ibanezes. Middle pickup is the original Quantum single coil, which provides great clean tones in split-switching with the bridge or neck.
Included is the original Lo-Pro Edge tremolo arm (with both bushings fitted) and a clip-lock strap. A hard guitar case is also included (as pictured, this is quite visibly used but still functional! Please also note that the little clear plastic baggie pictured had the trem block spring retainer strip in it; this has been re-fitted to the guitar so is supplied attached rather than separate in a bag).
This is a very well looked after guitar so if you have any other questions about it, please feel free to ask!
This has been in it's case in storage for the last couple of years so it's time to move it on.
