Most if not all the young male school kids in our local secondary school (All over Scotland actually) are 6 foot bloody two

In my school days i was 5 foot 8 and average(ish) (50 years ago) whaddya think...average height in the next 50 years 6'6"?

Can't surely be the junk food to blame :)

    The reasons normally quoted are better diet and health care for kids.

    Could that actually be a thing ?
    I notice lots of girls with big Thigh’s these days & I put it down to the contraceptive pill which I think can cause this & I think some take it as it can lessen PMT symptoms too (ooh that’s the guitar shop ,wonder if they’d reduce GAS ? )

    Netherlands is very tall, too.

    Maybe it’s a tall gene pool at this school?  Or in some ways we do eat better now, fast food aside.  We just know more about human development and nutrition than we used to.

    I heard recently that people in the U.K. are actually getting shorter…. We’re smaller than our European counterparts and this is down to our over consumption of ultra processed foods.

    I'm 6' 1" ( now age-shrunken to exactly 6') and I feel positively short sometimes when I'm stood next to a bunch of teenagers in a shop
    I was with a family last night........average height parents /wife slightly taller than average but all 3 kids are very tall ;both boys are 6'4 and the daughter is 6'
    doesn't seem to be any logic to it
    I think that now Montenegrins are the tallest nationality.
    Obviously race plays a part as N Europeans tend to be taller than Italian/Spanish and certainly most Asians tend to be shorter

    I'm 6' 5" tall, and I found myself looking eye to eye with most of the men I spoke with in Montenegro when I was there in the early 80s.  Their much taller than average height was something I noticed immediately - nothing like leaping and whirling Watutsi warriors, but still tall.
