PNG editing help/software advice, please...

I've got a .PNG file with a band logo on it. Single colour, transparent background. All I'd like to do is change the colour and add a solid colour background. I'm using a Mac or an iPad, but could, at a pinch, borrow the wifely PC if required.

What's the easiest PNG editor to use on macOS that is (hopefully) free?

I think PhotoScape X is free for the base version, that might do what you need. It's the one I use if I ever need to do similar things.

I mostly use my ipad for this sort of thing, but I've used Affinity Designer on Mac and it's great. Def comes with a free trial

No idea what's free that will do that but if you want to mail it over, I can do that and fling it back

If you're just doing something simple like this then I'd recommend an online editor. I've previously been really happy using https://www.photopea.com/ which is free and relatively easy to use.

You would be better converting it to vectors so you can then export to any physical size. If you want to send me the PNG (higher res the better) I can convert it for you.

Here you go. Converted to vectors. Something like Inkscape (free) can now edit and print this anyway you like and no loss of resolution even if you want a backdrop to the drummer at 2m high

I use Graphic Converter - it's shareware so you can use it for free (with restrictions I think, although I paid for it years ago so I can't remember for sure). https://www.lemkesoft.de/en/products/graphicconverter/

Works perfectly and very easy to use for a lot of simple image editing.
