I'm not sure if he is underrated or overrated, but the fella has got great technique that often gets buried in the mix.

  • I like him. Live QOTSA seem to have three guitars going at once sometimes, but it all adds up to a great sound. As for his signature guitars, I’m not a fan of signature guitars anyway, so can’t comment.

  • Yea good shout. He doesn't get enough love in the guitar community. QOTSA are one of, if not the best rock bands around and Troy is a big part of that. Looks super cool too.

    I have his Sweethead stuff and that is also pretty nice in terms of guitar parts. Also, he is a pretty decent producer.

    He recently stepped in for The Damned and Jane's Addiction, so he can play lots of stuff in various styles. 

    I happen to own both his signature model guitars, but I like offsets and the Yamaha is just a really nice semi-hollow for a lot less than a Gibson.
