    I knew him slightly from Rudy's in NYC.  He was trying to get me to trade my Fernandes Revival 57 Strat with Mark Knoffler, but Rudy wanted a cut off of the deal and it fell through.  I still have the Fernandes still.  He was a really nice guy and I'm sorry to see he passed away.

    I was surprised to hear this made the news on the radio earlier, I thought he'd only been in the band very briefly and I didn't think of him as "famous".  But looking at the timeline, he was there about as long as any of the second guitarists.... and he was in the band at the peak of their success.
