    Good news for the pending purchaser is that Whammy World still has stocks of the narrow format pivot screws. (The wider type is out of stock.)

    The bad news is that Whammy World's fixed price for overseas shipping means that it is necessary to over-order spare parts to justify the cost.

    I just happen to have a pair of NOS narrow width pivot screws from my most recent over-order.

    In many ways, it is.

    The 2500 family's USP was that this vibrato would directly retrofit a Fender American Standard Stratocaster without recourse to woodwork or pickguard alteration. Even the pivot screw thread pitches match!

    The weak point is the fine tuner moving parts arrangement. These are only necessary because of the string clamp.

    On a guitar with a straight string path over the nut, it is wiser to use locking machineheads. Without the clamp, the finer tuner thumb wheels can be removed, allowing the swinging string anchor sections to rest permanently against the main body of the vibrato. 

    All of this is academic if the edges of the pivot screws are out of round.
