VOX AC30 - Higher Gain tube swap?

Hey!

I recently snatched up an AC30CH head from Facebook for a steal, and I’ve been enjoying it so far.

However, is there a way to get more gain out of it? I’ve got the top boost channel all the way up but it’s still a few notches anyway from where I’d like it.

Wondered if doing some tube swapping might help? I could always just need a pedal but where’s the fun in that!

    No, it already uses the highest-gain valves available - ECC83/12AX7s. You will need a booster - possibly just a simple treble boost like Brian May uses.
