As it was when he bought it. Not the stonking looking LP it is today based on 30+ years of play. Shame.

It says £514.  Has it gone up since this morning?

Just for the sake of clarity - DV24/7 have closed their UK store... they are purely mail order from Germany now.

I see no Jessica or £499, just the existing models at £514. I'd be very surprised if Epiphone got a Jessica model before Gibson, too.

That isn't what their website says.  Shipping to a UK address is a standard £8 on anything under £150.  I ordered something post-Brexit that was only available from them in Germany and I didn't pay a surcharge

This isn’t related to Brexit, it’s because they are scumbags that took over the company and dropped the uk staff in it, moving everything to Germany but pretending to have a uk base.   In my experience it will be a pain to actually get your order and likely to be messed about with conflicting stories about what happened.
You can probably tell I’m not a fan of dv.

Yeah it does say that but only on the very front page - no more U.K. showroom.

Even so, £514 is now a reasonable price for an Epi LP with a hard case.  Not like the £800 they were looking for them when they were first released.

Are you sure that closing the UK operation in order to move to Germany where they're able to trade frictionlessly with the world's largest single market is nothing to do with Brexit?

If it wasn't already bad enough Brexit is now messing with the fabric of space and time.

They won't accept cause and effect being dictated to them by Brussels!

They had a UK showroom/office/registered subsidiary to serve the market here from 2013 until very recently. They are now firmly blaming Brexit and Covid for having to close that down.

And give you a next day delivery date, but take 5 days+. Utter sham of a company you can never get hold of anyone at. Same with BAX. Another German based UK 'shop'

They might have had, but I still wouldn't buy anything from them.

The old DV shop 5 minutes from my office is still empty 10 years on.  The staff there, and at other branches, turned up on a Monday morning to find themselves locked out.  The company had gone into a pre-packed "administration" but they did it in a way that it was sold to the German company and the management that was responsible for running it into the ground stayed on under the new ownership.

The way they treated their staff was shocking, and I wouldn't buy anything from them.  Given all the reports about their customer service, I wouldn't want to buy from them anyway.

Yes - in 2013 they consolidated to one UK address,  when they did the pre-pack administration and "sold" to Music Store Professional in Germany. Literally within the last few weeks they have shut the UK "store" and everything now ships from mainland Europe.

Because the parent company "knocked" a lot of UK suppliers in 2013 as part of the pre-pack admin job, a great many of them wouldn't supply to DV247 within the UK. So product was sold to Music Store Professional in Germany and then trans-shipped to the UK as DV247 - hence why a lot of their stuff had EU plugs, when you bought it "in the UK". I can see how this proved very expensive post Brexit. Blaming COVID is a bit odd as most of the MI did *VERY* well during lockdown and some had their best years ever...

I have my own opinions of their activities - but an NDA and professional relationship reasons mean I'm not at liberty to divulge it. Draw your own conclusions.

Not that it makes a whole heap of difference, but isn't BAX in the Netherlands?

I bought a guitar from them just over a year ago and IIRC it shipped from Germany back then...

  • I got an Ibanez from dv247 a couple of years ago. It arrived over a week late. During this time you receive various conflicting stories/reports as to what the hold up is. UPS will give you delivery times/dates with absolutely no intention of fulfilling them because the guitar is actually held up at customs. It's not worth it just save a few quid.

I had a £3500 Music Man guitar just disappear somewhere and DV247 just stopped answering emails, I think they blocked my number too. They're just awful and the store is the opposite of what a music store should be; vibrant, noisey, upbeat. It's sterile, quiet and unwelcoming.

The guitar arrived six weeks later while I was in talks with trading standards and the finance company about cancelling the order. Honestly, aaaaaavvvvvvoid.
