I'm selling my amazing time warp 1980 Made In Japan Ibanez Blazer bass, natural ash body, maple neck, super original clean original condition. This was one of the earlier Ibanez basses of their own design, and it looks contemporary now. 43 years old and looks like it was played or a week then put away. Brass bridge and brass coloured knobs. The whole bass is simple, elegant and functional. No frills, just a great sound.
There's a tiny ding on the fingerboard that you can't feel and can hardly see, and a couple of bumps on the top of the headstock, but very slight. Otherwise it is 100 percent and in undisturbed time warp condition. It could do with a setup, as you'd expect after so long sitting around, but I will leave that to the next owner.
Unbelievably, this was about the bottom of the range in Ibanez basses at the time, and I think they put it out to kill off the competition. I know people who bought these at the time rather than a Fender, to get all the quality of a solid wood, properly made, bass, at half the price. I used to sell them in the shop where I worked, and lots of the staff bought them, they were so good for the money.
This is the original 1980 model with the single coil pickup. Such a rare thing, and they are asking a ton of money in the USA for them now. Vintage quality. It must be worth £595 inc post as a Made In Japan rarity that is really as good as anything out there. No case, unless you want the big home made plywood lump of a case that it came in when I got it, but I will post well packed in a proper box with lots of bubble wrap. More pics available.
