JBL D120F - Which speaker gets me a similar enough sound?

Hi all, hope you're well.

I'm not interested in paying for an old one or reconing one for silly dough....

I understand they're Alnico too? So I guess it would have to be the same?

Just wondered if there was anything else out there that gets me reasonably near? Has to be 8ohm too.

Thanks all!

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

Definitely after a D120F? I have a reconed D130F that I've thought about moving on. Obs it's a different size so probably no! It's a bit tatty so not looking for megabucks.

For a 12, I've not tried anything else like it tbh probably because it's the only speaker I've tried with a metal dust cap. Maybe a speaker that was designed for pedal steel might work?  Eminence probably do one.

    Yeah, unfortunately the cab won't fit a 13 I don't think..... I'll have a look like :)

Try an Eminence Li’l Texas - it’s neodymium not alnico, but to me they sound somewhere between alnico and ceramic, smoother than ceramic if not quite as clear and ‘metallic’ as alnico (all other things being roughly equal). It’s 125W, available in 8 ohm, and best of all weighs about 10% of a JBL.
