I haven't bought strings for my neglected classical for years - went on EBay - and average price for D'Addario EJ45 Pro Arte - Normal Tension £10+ish / pack - yet some vendors doing them for £6,50 ish on a buy two get one free deals ( ie three packs for around £13 ) - is this just a very good deal or ?

cheers for any constructive advice

    Beware cheap strings deals.
IMO strings are best bought from reputable sources like Strings Direct.

For classical guitar I'd also say try La
    Bella.

At £6.50 a set or less I think there is a very high chance of them being fake.

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.

You've got to ask yourself - Do you feel lucky?

By your own admission you've neglected the classical for years, £10 for a set of strings isn't much of a penance!
3 packs for 13 quid? Come on!

I use eBay occasionally for items of small value but I'd never trust it for string purchase.
I saw a report of cheap (fake) Elixirs on there a while ago, but at around 18-20 quid for a genuine set, it's probably worth the while for counterfeiters.
For me, not worth the risk.
     ;)

The strings might be OK .It is hard to sell stuff at the moment , the vender might be just selling them off. There is a code on the back of D’Addario string packs . You can use it on their website to check if the strings are genuine.

I bought some D'Addarios at full price on eBay and they were fakes.  I wouldn't buy D'addario strings from eBay ever again.

They come in a sealed plastic package that has a serial number on so you can check if they’re fake. Obviously buy them from somewhere where you’ll be able to get a refund like eBay or Amazon.
