IMO strings are best bought from reputable sources like Strings Direct.
For classical guitar I'd also say try La
Bella.
Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
Stockist of: Earvana & Graphtech nuts, Faber Tonepros & Gotoh hardware, Fatcat bridges. Highwood Saddles.
Pickups from BKP, Oil City & Monty's pickups.
Expert guitar repairs and upgrades - fretwork our speciality! www.felineguitars.com. Facebook too!
By your own admission you've neglected the classical for years, £10 for a set of strings isn't much of a penance!
3 packs for 13 quid? Come on!
I use eBay occasionally for items of small value but I'd never trust it for string purchase.
I saw a report of cheap (fake) Elixirs on there a while ago, but at around 18-20 quid for a genuine set, it's probably worth the while for counterfeiters.
For me, not worth the risk.
I wouldn't touch the eBay/Amazon specials.
For £1 more you can get the far superior Aquilas - https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/string-sets-c865/classical-guitar-c288/aquila-19c-alabastro-classical-guitar-strings-normal-tension-p2258
