Vinyl Pressing

Got an album being mixed and mastered for digital release soon but think it would be really nice to have a few vinyl versions made up for keepsake. So far I can only find companies who will do minimum quantities of 50 at a cost of around a grand basic packages.

I only really want maybe 5 or 10 for me and the band members as well as others who have helped out.

Anyone know if there’s a company who would cater for this?

  •  They don’t exist! You could maybe get some acetates but it wouldn’t be worth the cost. Just master your music as though it were already on vinyl!

It’s not really about the sound, I want a physical vinyl version of our album to keep with my admittedly modest record collection.

I didn’t keep a note of any of the sites but just google vinyl pressing services U.K. If you need 50+ and you are happy paying a grand there are plenty of those.

I'm told people actually buy vinyl records these days, getting 50 might be financially viable depending on how many listeners you have...

I buy vinyl. Bought about a dozen new LP’s in the last month.

Of course! I get it. But, as someone who has been down this road many times, it is extraordinarily expensive for what it is. Anyway, good luck.

Depends on the genre.  I like most stuff, I listen to a lot of new music. Listen mostly to Radio 6.

Not into very heavy/death metal though.

What’s your music like, post a link :)

I buy vinyl but there’s no point in buying a vinyl version of something that’s been recorded and mastered in digital then released on vinyl … that’s just a degraded digital release.

I get the want of the proper full size sleeve and artwork though .. that’s cool.

There are sites that will crowd fund vinyl records, so it only gets pressed if you sell enough. Looks like Bandcamp do their own too.

Thanks definitely something to consider there if I can find enough mates to stump up  =)
