Mp4 converter for youtube

I'm planning to put some music on youtube but need to convert it from wav or mp3 into mp4. I don't have any software downloaded, are any of the free online ones any good? I'd like it to be reasonable quality. Cheers

I use Shotcut for any video editing. Very powerful free programme, so bit of a learning curve but can export in many formats including mp4 where you can choose resolution, etc

You can convert with Audacity which is free. You will also need to install LAME for Audacity (for mp3 support) and ffmpeg for Audacity (for mp4 support) separately (there's some legalities that mean these can't be bundled into the Audacity install).

Once you've done that you can load up the mp3 and then export as mp4 via 'custom ffmpeg export'.

Thanks for the info chaps. Has anyone used one of those free online converters with reasonable results? Where you just upload your mp3 to their site and they give you a download of your mp4.
