I've got a Steinberger copy with a Swiss cheese trem bridge which has failed and wasn't very good to start with anyway.
Has anybody got a spare one going for not a lot of money (ie. <£100)?
A Spirit one should be fine - I think it's a straight swap.
Cheers!

You didn't ask me for my opinion, but you're replacing a crappy bridge with another. If I were you I'd contact https://www.facebook.com/groups/430484140435731/user/1253681213/ on Facebook and get one of his bridges as a replacement. Not sure about the cost, but they have good reputation.

Good point - I have been in touch with some folks on FB, but they bust my budget.
The context is the instrument is inexpensive to start with and the ones I've looked at cost way more than it did.
    I don't recall if I've tried him, but I will - thanks!

FYI, this is the instrument and it's got a Spirit bass bridge already (which yes, is better than the "Overlord" on it had!) and Ric copy pickups.
I've got a Spirit guitar and the bridge on it doesn't seem troublesome, whereas this one has had to be locked in place to even be able to tune up!

The bass half is really good and I'm hoping I'll be bringing the guitar up to scratch too.
Incidentally, I wired one of the guitar pots as a push-pull with a kill switch to turn off the guitar output.

(I had contacted him last year, but just for a couple of bits which I sourced elsewhere.)

I just got back in touch and he's come back with a price which isn't stratospheric but is still more than the whole instrument and upgrades already done cost....

I’ve given up on my Steinberger’s bridge ever functioning as a vibrato, I just keep it locked off the whole time. The guitar seems to have had very little play time before I acquired it so it can’t be worn out, just shite. Including the replacement pickups I’m into it for about £400 so I’d be interested in knowing what a decent aftermarket bridge would cost.
