Can anyone recommend a budget set of gold humbucker pickups which would a good fit for a Peavey Signature EXP guitar  


I bought the guitar without the pickups and looking to fit a suitable set to get it up and running and moved on   - would a set out of an Epiphone do the job without detracting too much for the value  ?

    Yes and no.

    Yes. Epiphone "Classic" or "Pro" pickups should work in the Peavey guitar.

    No. Rightly or wrongly, Epiphone pickups would detract from perceived value of the guitar.

    I suspect that prospective buyers would have more confidence in replacement pickup brands such as Tonerider, Irongear or Alegree Old Timer.

    There is a strong argument for uncovered humbuckers.

    There is also an argument for selling the guitar *as is* to a Fretboard project fiend.
