WTB ebony Bridge pin

So I've managed to lose a bridge pin for my Guild GAD40CE. According to the Web they are 'BRIDGE PINS: Ebony Bridge Pins with MOP Dots'. Pic below.

Anyone got a suitable replacement lying around?

Can't help but you also need to specify the correct taper as all bridge pins are not equal

  • How do I find out the taper?

There is a guy I used to buy saddles and nuts from in the States called Bob Colossi. He has a list of pin taper by guitar brands on his website.

I'm genuinely interested to know how you managed to lose one?
Can you get a set of calipers & measure the pin size ( preferably with photo's for accuracy).
If they are the same size I might have some that you can have.

The string broke a while ago (months) and I just took out the string and put the pin back in and left the guitar hanging on the stand as life continued and I didn't get round to restringing because I knew it would involve various bits of long-overdue maintenance bits and pieces. In that time I moved the stand it lives on (one of those 6 guitar multi-hanging hercules jobs) around the house a few times during decorating works and each time took all the guitars off and laid down in another room. At some point the pin must have fallen out. It is somewhere in the house, but God only knows where. Only noticed when I went to restring this weekend.

I'm away at the moment but will measure on my return.

Don't have any calipers to hand but the measurements seemed to be whole number millimetres so see pics below - any use?

In case not obvious- 4mm at the bottom of the shaft, 5mm at the top, 24mm shaft length and 30mm overall length

Hi, sorry for the delay, I couldn't find the pins or my caliper  s
Anyway I dug everything out & measured them.
29.91mm overall length, 22.69mm shaft length, 5.31mm at the shaft top & 3.4mm at the tip.
Measurements will vary slightly as they are average quality Chinese made, ebony wood with abalone/pāua shell dots.
The 5.31mm is probably going to be too large for the bridge hole, but could be reduced down to 5mm.
Anyway, if they will be of any use, PM me & I'll send you them, otherwise I hope you can find suitable ones elsewhere.
