WTB: Enty-level hifi for 15-year old

My son is looking for an entry-level hifi system. e.g. turntable/CD player/amp/speakers.

Has any one got anything inexpensive kicking around, pref. near York?

What your budget?

Look for a Nad533 turntable, they turn up on eBay for £100-£150 ish. Great starter deck, and great modding platform.

Richer Sounds have an offer on a Denon DM41 for about £200.00. Has built in CD player and tuner as well as an amp. It sounds very reasonable for the price and it's compact. You'd need a phono stage for the turntable unless it has one already inbuilt.

Good luck. It's a long slippery slope to audio Nirvana.

Thanks - I'm hoping for older, cheaper separates!

I used to work at Richer Sounds in the 80s, before going to Uni to study Acoustics, so I know all about the slippery slope - been there, done that!
