61 keys with weighted synth action, velocity and aftertouch and a 16-part multi-timbral sound source covering all of Roland's classic sounds: organs, synths, orchestral, EDM, etc. 16 pads for triggering loops/samples and for finger drumming. Keyboard splits and layering all done from the easy to use and HUGE screen.
Yes, it has a built-in DAW:
With squillions of FX from Roland's FX units that you can use as inserts or sends. Plus a built-in audio interface for plugging in mics/guitar/bass/line inputs directly for recording. Hi-Z and phantom power included. Just plug in some monitors (or headphones).
No other synth/workstation was/is as capable. It's the Roland flagship from the days before computer DAWs took over. If you want to do some recording without firing up a PC/Mac, this is the best thing. No configuration, no drivers, no OS conflicts, no crackles, no latency.
(Of course, it'll work with a regular computer DAW and has USB support for hooking up to a PC/Mac - check the Roland site for driver availability.)
It's a monster, built like a tank. No box, so collection only from Cambridge. May meet halfway if you're not too far away.
