Fender Roc Pro 70 Combo Amp
This is one of my fathers amps; Tony Bourge formerly of Budgie (who wrote Crash course in Brain surgery (metallica covered) Homicidal Suicidal (Soundgarden Covered) and I Cant See My Feelings (Iron Maiden Covered)) He's had this since he was a guitar tech at Nobles music in Cardiff back in the 90's. He's asked me to sell this on his behalf as although IT literate he's not quite made it this far.
AMP FEATURES: 70 Watts into 8 ohms, 1-12” Fender Special Design Speaker, Dual Selectable channels (Normal and Tube Drive) 12AX7 / ECC83 preamp tube, Variable EFX loop, Line Out, 2-Button footswitch (Channel Select and Reverb), Genuine Black Tolex and Rugged Metal Speaker Grill. This has a valve pre amp section with transistor power stage and sounds lovely. My dad is also a guitar builder of 25-30 years (yes i know luthier, but it sounds so pretentious...) I have 2 and another we built together. Ill put some picks up when i get time. He plans on selling some of his collection in the future.
Bit of trivia for you but my father never wanted an SG. The boys in the band kept nagging him to get something more modern (in the 70's!) like a SG or Les Paul, but he dearly loved his Gibson Stereo es345, even stuffed with news paper.... so they were on the road going to another gig and did his head in so much that he stopped the van at a music store they drove past. He jumped out, took his guitar in and did a straight swap for the SG on the wall. That 345 would be worth about 20 grand plus today.. one of his few regrets.
Good luck with selling the amp btw.
king_b1... good luck with the sale of the amp.
Great story about your dad and his SG purchase.... and a great warning to us all - never listen to a drummer and a bassist that wanna tell you which guitar to play!!! )
Awesome
Wow
Seen Tony around 86/87 when he played guitar for Tredegar still got the autographed album. What a player fans kept shouting for Breadfan!!!!
