String journey ahoy! This time it's for the Bourgeois Aged Tone Mahogany dread that I bought back in May. 

I've no idea what was on it but they were phosphor bronze 13s, and had sold ball ends. Google suggests maybe Adamas but I'm not sure if anyone else does similar. Either way, they sounded great and lasted well but I wanted to try 12s for the sake of my fingers. I chucked a set of Daddario EJ16 (phosphor bronze 12-53) on last night and they sound good so far. Will see how I get on

    I've met two or three makes that have solid ball ends. Trouble is I didn't make notes and my memory isn't up to the task of remembering which two or three. It's a dumb idea.

    (I have to say though that the Adamas Composite 12s I put on my Messiah, expecting them to be pretty awful, are very good indeed. So much so that I've ordered more of them. )

    I was going to say that that is the most striking top wood I've seen on a guitar in a long while. But then I decided it might be a table. :)

    Ha! Yes that’s a massive slab of walnut but it’s our table, not a guitar :D 

    Though the guitar in question happens to also be one of the most ridiculous hits of Adi spruce I’ve seen
