Audens

What's Hot
I’m being tempted by an Auden acoustic on Reverb. After looking them up it seems they have a pretty good rep. I just wondered if anyone here fancied adding their opinion/experiences. The one I’m looking at is the Neo Chester 000 Electro acoustic.

  • I’m yet to play a bad Auden, they’ve all been very well made and have sounded excellent. They are good workhorses imo.

I have two. A Marlow 14-fret parlour and a Colton dreadnought. Both punch well above their weight in terms of sound and build quality vs price.

  • I had an Emily Rose 12 fret parlour. I have to say, I found it a bit bright but that's a matter of taste. Sold it as there wasn't enough fretboard real estate. I just love 14 fret cutaways (but I seem to be in a minority there - but what's new?).

I’m not keen on overly bright guitars myself. The one I’m looking at is cedar top and mahogany back and sides though.

  • ^ So was the Emily Rose. My Takamine Jumbo can be quite bright and it's cedar/hog. My Avalon Pioneer is cedar/walnut and is a little bright compared to the Ard Ri which is bearclaw spruce / walnut - alth9ough that may have a ways to go running in. I think it's down to the cedar actually although in the case of the parlour it might have been the smaller mid range / bass.
