is it easy to navigate ?….
had Helix and that was ok….but a bit big physically….just bought and moved on a Hotone Ampero Stomp 2…..impressive at first but fell out with after 6 weeks !…
not had Fractal before but they seem to be one of the main players …
don’t fancy Kemper or Neural …
I've had Helix ( since 2016) and still got. Had a kemper .. with good IR's they can sound great but you're going to end up buying countless profiles and not really being able to tweak them very much and Kemper navigation is in the dark ages without a computer. Neural QC ..had and sent back. Woefully underdeveloped but may come good in the end. Which leaves Fractal....easy to navigate?? ... well, yes and no. It's very very good with the PC/MAC editor and not bad on the unit itself (but not as easy as Helix). It's kind of Helix on steroids. You can go much much deeper in editing, if it's your thing but most importantly it sound way better than Helix out of the box with the factory presets. So you can get a smile on your face much quicker. The FM3 is bigger than HX stomp but sounds much better and can do more...much more.
I'm sticking with the FM9 so i've definitely bought into the Fractal 'thing' and i can definitely get sounds that Helix can't match but i'm not selling my Helix rack either because i've spent 6 yrs dialling it in and got some great live presets.
