    That was one of those goals that we used to try and copy out on the muddy field after school ... such vivid memories.

    Especially difficult to crack a ton-weight ball with rifle-accuracy from 30 yards ... completely overlooked these days.

    It was one of those shots that was still rising as it hit the back of the net - Lorimer and Woodward (Sheff Utd) were to big hot shots of the day and both would have been proud to have hit one that well  

    Just noticed Hereford's next match is Friday in the FA Cup so kind of fitting

    February 1972, before I started at secondary school and had all thoughts of the round ball ritually beaten out of me. (It was a grammar school. "We only have the oval ball here, boy.")
    same here - we were told the 'modern school' that is over the road is where you should be if you want to play football - and likewise as early 70's for me as well
