  • It’s a super simple treble booster.

It’s this circuit if you want to make your own

  • Well thanks and I do admire people that do this but honestly I have the soldering skills of a chimpanzee and zero patience for this sort of thing. I can just about swap pickups in my Strats, swap loaded pickguards and change the odd capacitor, even then its painful and hit and miss.

Also that's the PCB but how much would it be with all components plus labour time? (Something I don't have too much of)

Even if I had the skills I'd have to hear that exact design built first before committing,  Fuzz/OD/treble boost circuits are all supposed to be simple yet the tiniest difference in components seems to make a big difference in result. I have no idea how much the Fuzz Dog design differs to the Diaz 'original' (it says 'inspired by') or indeed the Pedal Pawn design, and again there would be a research job to go through schematics to see. The Pedal Pawn guys put a lot of time into getting their clone right - in terms of sound/function - and it does exactly what it says on the tin, so I guess I'm paying for their R&D.

If I buy 2nd hand I know I can get my money back if I sell it on  so not too worried.

Oh yes definitely I think it will
keep its value. Tbh both are clones of a different maker. I would say that they would probably sound virtually identical. Most of the clone stuff we see is traced by the diy community. It’s the reason we now have klon clones
