Looking for a budget friendly trem.  Pretty set on a Boss or a Mooer, but open to diy clones too.

    I notice there is a DanElectro Cool Cat trem  (not mine) on Ebay right now for £23 or best offer - a bargain. They are  an ugly pedal with a silly shape, and daft placed knobs, BUT, they sound surprisingly great - vintage amp-like trem, with a choice of hard/soft wave (sine/square), true bypass and are in a rugged metal housing (unlike the cheaper plastic Danos)... I have one and it stands up well to my other more expensive tremolos.You could do a lot worse on a budget and might get it for 20 quid?

    Thanks @Super8 - have put it on my watchlist.  Might need a few days to see if I can come to terms with the aesthetics…those danos really are a bit of an eye sore!

    Yeah, shockingly ugly and toy-like (and unfortunately the trem is purple - my least favourite colour), but beyond that it is a decent-sounding bargain that gets a lot of favourable reviews on forums like the tdpri one.

    I have a Mooer Trelicopter, which is a great budget trem. It's cheap as chips and pretty flexible with a good sound. If it had a tap tempo it would be perfect for my limited needs, although there's no room for it.

    Currently A-Bing it with a Zvex Sonar which has tap but does way more than I need....

    @merlin yeah that was the feeling I got from the reviews and forum research.  Also trying to fit this on a nano board so useful that it's micro sized.  If you go with the zvex and don't want the trelicopter let me know! :)
