FS: Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Telecaster Bridge **slight issue so going cheap**

What's Hot
Following my recent pickup pickup journey which ended with a Hot Rails, I've also ended up during some trades with a mid-90's (the previous owner thinks/worked out) SD Quarter Pound.

It came fresh out of a working guitar, but it does have a slight cosmetic issue. I think it's a storage problem, when it was sat unused for a time.

I've done my best to photograph it, and to show how much the the top curves upwards slightly. Please see the photos below.

It really doesn't cause an issue to the playability when installed. The curve is at the 1st string end.

If someone fancies it for cheap, then it's £25 including Signed For postage. That assumes that I don't have to pay any fees. Collection in person from NR13 is more than welcome. I'll also be traveling through parts of Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex this coming Saturday.

Thanks for looking!

  • Looks as if the end of the upper fibreboard plate got caught on something and forced upwards, away from the coil. It is possible that the outer turns of the coil have been damaged.

Try to take DC resistance meter readings between the red and white conductors and the red and black. This would demonstrate whether each half of the coil is uninterrupted.
    Be seeing you.

Thanks for the tip. Really appreciate that.

I'll update the thread later today!

Assuming that there is no prob with the pickup as mentioned above, I'll take it. I'm making a skanky Tele, so parts that are somewhat knackered preferred!

Looking at the second photograph, there is a strand of copper wire protruding from the high E end of the pickup.

The runs of wire from the start and tap point of the coil to their respective soldering eyelets appear black beneath the potting wax. I reckon that the inner portion of the coil is intact. (Black to red = c. 8k.)

If the stray copper strand is from the outer portion of the coil, no meter reading will be obtainable between red and white.

The purchaser's options would be EITHER use the STL-3T permanently on half power OR have turns of copper unwound back to the break in the coil. Solder the working section of the coil to the white conductor eyelet and live with whatever DC resistance you get.

The nett result might not be a million miles from the specs of a popular Oil City model.
    Be seeing you.
