FS: ENGL E650 Ritchie Blackmore Signature 100w Head with Z5 Footswitch £720

FOR SALE: ENGL E650 Ritchie Blackmore Signature 100w Head with Z5 Footswitch

I bought this head brand new around 2 years ago for £1,200 with the Z5 Midi footswitch controller. It has served me very well but unfortunately after picking up a new amp I simply have no reason to hang on to it. It does the high gain thing very well but can comfortably cover anything thrown at it from a variety of powerful cleans to crunch tones. 4 x 5881 tubes.

I was asking £850 and have dropped the price to £720. Please keep in mind that the footswitch alone costs £150!

Wow, I'd love one of these if I had the money & didn't think it would blow the tiles off the roof of my house.

What are these things like for playing at home ? Seem to remember a 75w being almost impossible to use at home.

Surprised not more interest from the gig guys... I've never heard a bad Engl live yet

Have a bump on me.. good luck

    Cheers

    Baz

  • Hi Baz, thanks for the comment (and the bump!)

I've not had a problem with getting good sounds out of the amp at low volumes. The way it's designed seems to be that it sounds the same pretty much all throughout the volume range (a very large range, at that) before opening up slightly as the power stage compresses at around 11 o'clock on the Master. There's still plenty of clarity and body at any volume. Great amp, just not right for me anymore in terms of tone.

    Cheers,
    Jack

    Hey Robert

I'm sure Jack finally sold this about 5/6 weeks back on ebay cos I was monitoring it & had contemplated it myself when it was on here.
But he will be along in a day or two to confirm.

The only other Blackmore I know for sale in UK at the mo is one at World guitars...has the Z5 F/Sw too

It was me that just snagged the one Darren had on here this week.

Good luck in the hunt, will keep my eyes open for one for you
    Cheers Baz

  • Okay - it was YOU!!!!!!

    Thanks for the info

    Enjoy it:)

Are you going for the "modern" sound or more "classic Blackmore"?

    Cheers
    Robert

Glad you finally pulled the trigger, Baz! :)
