Here's what HoT say about them: With our award winning unique design using both Alnico IV and V magnets and dual coils that control the bass 3 strings and treb 3 strings separately. Under the 3x3 cover are "focuser" slugs that push the magnetic field back onto itself. All this creates a humbucker with the clarity and articulation of a single coil, especially on the treble strings. The string to string balance is unrivalled in a humbucker. Turn it down a little on the guitar and it sounds like a single coil with no hum.

Here's what HoT say about them: The RedHouse pickup is one seriously unique single coil. This variation on the P90 uses alnico 5 pole pieces instead of the 2 bar magnets found in standard P90s. These are especially interesting when 21mm long alnico 5 poles are used to help get a tone very close to the old staple P90s. They have a very defined, clear tone that has the hollow like mids and bell like bass of a strat neck pickup but the extra boost of a P90 and with all the single coil spank. Amazing as a neck pickup for that Red House sound!

Both pickups are highly regarded, winning magazine awards. These are essentially brand new, purchased about a month ago. Nothing wrong with them, just had a bunch of problems with the cavity in my guitar (HH Telecaster) being marginally too shallow to accommodate them properly and I really don't want additional routing work done to the guitar etc.
