Im looking for a four string soap bar pickup to go in to a Cort GB bass.
Preferably a MM style, but willing to entertain a regular soap bar (i can always mod the scratchplate somehow)
Looking for something like an EMG,Bartolini, etc to replace the cheap pickup in there at present.

Wisest to confine your search to direct replacement Stingray style pickups.
I liked the Bartolini MMC in a Sterling RAY34. Parallel coil interconnection for the win. (Series mode was loud, dark and overbearing.)
Plenty of other good brands out there. I cannot comment on them because I have not tried them.
EDIT: Steve Robinson's Schaller bass humbucker should fit into the Cort's MM pickup cavity but would need the mounting surround to hide the gap between pickup and pickguard.
I'm not sure how well the four screw holes in the Schaller mounting surround would align with the wood around the pickup rout. They need something into which to bite.
