Local Hero - Wild Theme

What's Hot
Help please :anguished:

One of my top five films of all time is Local Hero and in my youth I could play a listenable version of Wild Theme. However, in my heart of hearts I really want to be able to play this version ... it's outstanding and beautiful IMHO.

My limiting problem is that my arthritic and inflamed fretboard hand just does not afford the flexibility or stretch these days ... I can't even play my own version from 35 years ago :anguished:

Has anyone tabbed/scribed some manageable chord sequences/shapes that a flailing old man could use on an electro-acoustic ... I don't have a classical guitar at the moment.

Thanks.

Stu

  • It may be that the Mark Knopfler used an open tuning for this. I don't know if it's documented anywhere.

  • amazing that. Its a tune Tranmere Rovers play after every game, so I normally associate it with disappointment

AKA 'Going Home (without the 3 points)'.

B-side is the soul classic 'A Cold Rainy Night in Stoke'.
