    Mmmmh!@ Never thought about it. I guess it could be... Not sure which of them came first!  SOD would indeed be the natural acronym for Super Over Drive! Lol

    It's Arion Stereo Over Drive, it's stereo (probably doubles as a buffered splitter):

    The schematic is very similar to the SD-1 but the clipping diodes face the opposite direction to the SD-1

    Sorry for hijacking your sales thread @oldbramwell. For balance I'd like to say i have both those fishman preamps listed and they are great. In particular the Aura Spectrum is great for sorting out a piezo acoustic sound. And if you dont want the 'aura' models you can just turn that bit down and you're left with a high quality preamp, DI, eq, effects loop and compressor all in one!
