A mixer question, confused

I've got an XR18. I'm hearing reverb on my voice when I don't want to. I'm reasonably new to mixers so bear that in mind.

Here's the set up. Reverb on Bus 3 (send), stereo. Back in stereo on inputs 3 and 4. So now I've got reverb wherever I want it. In this case, keys (input 7 and 8 stereo) and voice (input 1 mono).

There are no inbuilt effects on. 

Even with the Bus 3 slider full down I hear reverb. If I push it up there is more reverb as you'd expect. But how come there is reverb even with the Bus slider full down?

Any ides gratefully listened to, it's annoying me I cant sort it

    If the send is pre-fader it will still be there sending sound if you take the slider down.

    Is there a monitor/aux also sending to reverb?

    Ok. Reading now. Should it be pre-fader? Is that the issue here?
