My usual is busy (four-week wait) so I thought Dave Wilson.

But who do *you* think? Have *you* had an acoustic setup that you were impressed with? Thanks in advance :)

Yes. I knew it needed a setup when I bought it but gave it time to settle in its new home.

It's playable the way it is but needs fine tuning :)

I can recommend Andy Charles in Birmingham but might be a bit far for you? Think he has a 2 week wait at least.

Does it need the nut filing as well as the saddle? My C&W could've done with both but I got impatient and did the saddle myself yesterday, bringing the 12th-fret 6th string action down from 2.75 to 2.25mm. It's made the world of difference and I've decided I can live with the nut action where it is now.

Both nut and saddle, mainly the latter. I'd like it down from 3mm to around 2.48mm at the 12th :)

GuitarGuitar recommended him when I was in the store . There's also Joe who had a spares and repairs shop in the Jewellery Quarter. He did a setup for me once. Nice work

Can't beat a pro set up but it's pretty easy to take a little off the saddle if you simply can't wait. If you do, go for slightly less than 1mm to allow for a touch more lowering if/when you get the nut done.

I wouldn't tackle a nut job myself ;) but as I say, I'm satisfied with mine now the saddle's a bit lower and it means I don't have to be without the guitar for any period of time (honeymoon continues).

Oh I totally get not being without the guitar that comes with DIY. I've done saddles before but this time I'll hand the job to a pro and play my openback banjo until I get the Dove back :)

I'll probably hang around until CCGX get their turnaround down to two weeks.

The nut needs a little work. I can't do that and I may as well have them  do the saddle at the same time :)

Probably the best thing to do is wait until it has settled down in your environment before adjustment. That should take 3 - 6 months. Usually it's not a lot.
