Polyend Play

This has been eagerly awaited, but is getting absolutely trashed on Elektronauts due to the lack of sampling and limited sound design capabilities.

However from watching this Benn Jordan video the sequencing looks super fun and creative and would be the perfect upgrade for someone looking to step up from a Circuit Tracks or Circuit Rhythm, or sequence a bunch of external gear:

    Justifiable criticism IMHO.
I can't see any real reason to get it when other devices are much, much better.

    Get a Deluge.
Much more capable than the Play and the updates we've been getting have been astonishingly good.

I think this is the challenge they face it's only slightly cheaper than something like a Deluge, MPC Live II, MC-707, etc and considerably more expensive than a Novation Circuit, SP404, Model Samples, etc.

If it was about £400 I'd seriously consider one.

Currently my groovebox GAS is for either a Syntakt, Digitone, or an SP404 MKII

    Yes, I agree.
Too expensive for newbies and experienced people will find it limited.
I'll get one used once they are £300.

I really like my Medusa- I use it a lot.

All good options but have you not looked at the Deluge?
    It is the besssssssssst.
Don't let the lack of a screen bother you.
It is also battery powered, which is more useful think people think it is.

I must say I haven't just because they are hard to get hold of in the UK.

I know people who have them go nuts about them.

You probably have to buy new, mine took 7 days to arrive from NZ (to Singapore).

Do like the look of the Polyend Play - it’s got a nice immediacy to it. Some of the randomisation and sequencing features are Elektron-esque.

The Deluge seems interesting and good value, but it does a bit too much for me to be able to figure out how I’d use it
