WTB/WTT 70's headstock Strat neck

Vintage-TVintage-T Frets: 402
Bought a Northwest Guitars neck last year for a Billy Corgan strat build I was doing, but it's way too big for me, I've never really been bothered by neck thickness or width but this one is just too big.

Looking for something a bit slimmer, I can offer this neck in a trade or just buy one.

Will be relic'd anyway so dings not a problem, not overly fussed over maple or rw board either, I just want to get my build to a point where I can play it without hand fatigue.

What are the dims (width and depth at the 1st and 12th) of your neck? I might be interested. If you are looking for a slimmer neck then try squier as they did some large headstock necks and they tend to be slimmer "modern" C type profiles

I've just measured it, the specs certainly don't match their website. Depths should be taken with a mm or so difference as was measured over strings did push them down as much as I could ( I'll slacken them off for an accurate reading later but was just trying to be quick.)

    width at nut 43.45mm
    depth of 1st fret 25.24mm

    12th fret width 52.43mm
    depth 26.79mm

I might try and sand this neck down to make it a bit more usable. The annoying this is I had a lovely nut made for me by a local luthier and a pro set up so it's in great playable condition now. Maybe I just need to play it more until I get used to it.

I've looked at the squiers, I'd go for one if it had the same finish on it as my J Mascis Jazzmaster.
However, it's getting to the point where it's almost cheaper to try and pick up a full cheapish Mexican strat and part it out over just buying a neck.

I did look at their site and it basically lists the dims for all the necks as the same, which is obviously not the case! Anyway, if you like the neck and the width is okay just reprofile it :+1:

I would reshape the neck yourself. It’s not that difficult and all you need is sandpaper, a scraper or Stanley knife blade and some vernier calipers. It’s very satisfying to shape your own neck!

There’s a Squier one in FB marketplace for 46 quid down in Salisbury.
