Pair of Gretsch blacktop ‘trons plus rings, £65ppg posted


Set of nickel Grover rotomatics, these came off an ‘87 PRS Custom 24, but I have no idea how old they are. The nickel has a nice VOS-style patina though, and the mounting screws will be included.  £35ppg posted

    Only what I've already googled.  Apparently the dimensions are slightly different and the pickup surrounds aren't interchangeable between the two.  Soundwise, the broadtrons are a bit PAF-ier, and the filters are nearer to a classic 'Tron but with a bit more poke.  The current Electromatic Jets (G5220, I think) come with Broadtrons, and the hollows/semis in the same line are supposed to come with the BT Filters stock.

    @guitargeek62 Are the pickups humbucker sized or do they fit a humbucker route with the rings?

    They’re bigger than standard filtertrons, but not the same as humbuckers. I can take proper measurements tomorrow when I’m back home to check. The rings don’t fit on the same holes as standard humbuckers though, but would cover the original ones if you wanted to retrofit these to something HB-loaded.
