Aaaaand...as you were
Okay - 'comedian' Rob Brydon does a Small Man in a Box impression ( no, he does, people find it funny) as part of his shtick. Marshalls for race meetings, etc, wear hi vis jackets. So, that's yer explanation. Or Dave has stopped taking his tablets again.
I've seen Rob Brydon in the Gavin and Stacey TV show....and possibly a couple of episodes of QI...he does Ronnie Corbet as well IIRC.
I'll watch out for his famous "box" routine next time I have Dave on the telly (Dave the channel, not Dave the online comedian/function band guitarist).
I have two high vis vests you know. I wear them regularly as fork lift trucks are repelled by them.
Ringleader of the Cambridge cartel, pedal champ and king of the dirt boxes (down to 21)
Another good Marshall in a box type pedal is a JHS Charlie Brown.
A JTM45 in a box.
Giving some thought to trading/selling mine as not sure if I really need it, going more the opposite way of trying to make a British amp sound like a Fender.
~O)
Just as an aside, as someone who sort of knows what a Les Paul through a Marshall sounds like but equally has never really played through a Marshall in anger...how would one define the Marshall "sound"..?
(And yes I know Marshall have made more than one amp during their many years, but generally speaking here I think there is definitely a Marshall "sound"...)
"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski
"Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson
Well it all boils down to me buying a new guitar (of the big G variety) and going for the cliched 'Classic Rock' sound...but via pedals that I can easiy sneak into the house rather than a new amp ;-)
I'm dead happy with my amp, no plans at all to change that, but for my own enjoyment I like to have a few different sounds on tap...even though I know that joe public down the boozers I play won't actually care.

Mindbogglingy convincing, v powerful EQ, and does various Marshall eras all from one unit.
I say def try one - maybe 2nd hand (MkI without the speaker emulation switch go cheaper and just as good) and flip it if you don't get on with it.
Budget option: used Mooer Cruncher
