SORTED: Super Budget P+J pickups, 4-string Bass bridge

Am just wondering if anyone has a 4-string bass bridge in chrome, and some P and J bridge bass pickups in black floating about? My budget is close to zero.

Basically am looking to de-mod an old sunburst Ibanez SR300DX before I sell it.

Do you have a buyer lined up?

How many control knobs does your SR300 have? Three or four?

It might prove more economical to sell the bass in stripped down form to some forum hoarder with the necessary spare parts stashed away in a drawer. ;)
    Be seeing you.

  • Thanks for the idea! The bass has 4 control knobs, it has a set of SD Quarter Pound P+J, and a Gotoh 201 (?) bridge.

I want to keep the pups and bridge for a short scale bass later on, just like you've said, hence the sale. Someone here did show interest in a starter bass sometime ago but I had not thought of de-modding it at the time.

I like the Gotoh 201B. I have used it to upgrade several of my less expensive bass guitars.

My interest in a possible SR300EX "kit" is based on me already having the stock active pickups and EQ from an old MIJ SR800. The four pot control cavity should accommodate the EQ PCB whereas a three pot version would not.

As you probably already know, an SR300EX in immaculate condition is unlikely to fetch over £100. It could cost you nearly half that to get the bass presentable.

Fair point, as much as I pretty much just want it gone (through no fault of its own), it does almost cost more to sell than to leave it as it is.
