Prototype/catalog photograph set of my my Brass Knuckle 5/4 Custom set, trem style 52mm spaced.
These were created to be photographed for our website so are brand new and unused. For those who haven't encountered these pickups before: I stopped making them for a while as they were rather time consuming, but they are back as of next month. With 12 individual alnico poles split so that the bass strings use alnico 5 and treble strings use alnico 4. The bridge and neck pickups have 'reflector plates' like Fender Wide range and the bridge pickup has custom over-height bobbins and is basically two single coil pickups acting as a humbucker. Many folks loved the first incarnation of these, here's a chance to be the first to own the next generation in clear bobbin red wire variant. They also have my fibre zero crank baseplates which counter the taller bridge pickup and make this no taller than a conventional short leg HB set (can be bofy mounted or use conventional scratch plate or pickup ring mounting.
Normal Price £200 the pair
£130 the pair delivered ,  as new and guaranteed.  SOLD

Beano bridge PAF style. Vintage spec 50mm Gibson spaced plain enamel wire, unpotted over vintage spec bobbins with all the usual PAF goodies including hardwood spacer and vintage spec hookup cable (core and shield). There is the tiniest ripple in the cover at the top E string pole screw hole which is why the pickup was pulled from a customer order - you really do need to be looking for this fault and hold the pickup up to a bright light while looking across it - but we are super picky at Oil City  :-)
Usual price £119.00 inc cover
New, boxed, guaranteed and delivered £80.00 SOLD

I don't know if mods will approve, but in future I may post a heads up somewhere else on the forum a couple of days before my next workshop clear-out. saying I will post on here at a certain time. I usually not just get my arm bitten off when I post these items ... but get the impression of a shoal of piranha in full feeding frenzy. and I want to give folks a fair crack at getting what they want!

I chanced upon this Discussion minutes after it was posted. If the Brass Knuckle pair had blue enamelled wire or opaque black/cream bobbins, I would have snaffled them for my Sterling AX40.

Think of the feeding frenzy as a mark of respect, sir.

I'd murder for blue enamelled wire. It's super rare to find coloured wire batches as it is (apart from red and that's often only available from the US makers direct).  I've seen green and purple but it seems you need to drop several thousands of pounds in a bulk order for them to mix the colour and coat it specifically. Occasionally you'll see a batch that's remaindered from a bulk order by a company like Gibson - and sometimes the wire dates back to the 70s!
