Drum machine repairs

I've found an old Alesis hr-16 in my garage but It doesn't seem to power up at the moment. Do you guys know of anyone decent who could take a look at it?

  • Probably an adaptor problem as opposed to the actual machine, check the one your using if I remember correctly the supply needs to be 12 v AC not DC but you'd better Google it

Could be that the lithium battery inside needs replacing. Tricky. I read that it is a Tadiran TL5101 3.6v half AA "P" terminal. The latter have to be soldered to the PCB. Approved Alesis repairers charge a fortune.

Other members of the 51xx 3.6v series could be substituted if you were to attach the appropriate socket to the board first.

I hope that your HR-16 only rquires a healthy PSU.
    Be seeing you.

    Those HR16s need a 9v AC supply.

  • I tried it with a 9v AC supply but alas tis still dead. Taking it to a repair shop looks like it the answer.
