    Yep, that’s good. It illustrates why the tempered scale is so useful ... but not the only way. I think as guitarists we often sweeten fretted notes with finger pressure or micro-bends, or with wide vibrato. I do feel for the early composers who commissioned microtonal keyboards, and danced around Just intonation.

    If you like "microtonal" music, try pretty much any non-western tradition. Arab maqam, Turkish makam, pretty much anything from Asia, Eastern Russia, Caucasus.
