FS, Most of a VH-1-esque Strat Build, Unusual Thinline Esquire Body, Strat Pickguard
What's Hot
First up, quite the “Most of a VH-1 esque Strat” project.

Obviously it’s not a direct rip of one of Eddie’s but it’s got that hot Rod vibe, the bits it’s made from are pretty decent spec and I think it’s cool.
Specs are
Body: GuitarBuild one that started I think with
@guitarcookie1. It’s a nice light one, not sure what it’s made from Ash maybe ? He applied the finish to it which started out as white which can be seen round the back where the sticker previously covered it

It’s armed with. set of strap buttons a neck plate & screws and most importantly a Wilkinson WV6 trem, the nice one with the 5 slotted, 1 round mounting hole to avoid binding on the screws, the push fit trem arm, and the steel block. Brilliant trem for my money the best thing you’ll get short of the Wudtones or Callahams at 5 times the price.
Electronics:
Iron Gear “Hot Slag” wired to a single 500k volume pot on a single ply, single hum cutout black pickguard, supplied with cream coloured “Tone” knob. Can do you a hot pink knob instead should you prefer ?
Have filled all the old non aligning pickguard screw holes and do have pickguard screws for it

Its one of GSP Grahames so you know this is a quality piece of Maple & Rosewood
https://i.imgur.com/AnqrK02.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/LA056zm.jpgIt’s got a nice thin oil finish to the Maple back
My radius gauges tell me the board has a 9.5-10” radius with some shiny medium jumbo frets on it and my callipers tell me that it’s very much in “vintage” camp in terms of profile measuring 22.7 mm at the 1st fret and 24.5mm at the 12th although it doesn’t actually feel particularly chonky, I’d describe the profile as C with maybe the merest hint of slight V at the lower end.
has a set of bushings for vintage style klusons fitted .
I do have two alternative necks I could sub in if you’d prefer
1. Chunky MIJ 22 fret maple neck headstock recut/reshaped to a Suhr profile, this one comes with a nut and tuners fitted but as the 22nd fret overhang tongue rides a bit low you will have to trim the pickguard neck pocket
https://i.imgur.com/B8UCBod.jpg2.Rev headstock (also cut to a Suhr shape) Chinese Maple/Rosewood neck also has tuners and nut but this one has the added intrigue of a very nice Blackmore style scallop having been added to it.
https://i.imgur.com/a9ShTVR.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/vVH0nHu.jpgOk so parts you will need to finish this irrespective of neck choice are
Jack Socket
Jack Plate
String Tree
And if you go with the pictured neck you will also need
Kluson type tuners
Nut.
So most of a guitar there, doesn’t need much to get it over the line, especially if you opt for one of the alternative necks.
I think this will make a great “soft start” for someone or a cool little project for for the coming darker nights
£220 posted to mainland UK anyone ?

Might require some additional body routing to get it on.
If you wanted this on the above guitar build happy to negotiate, otherwise
£15 posted ?
I give you the slightly bonkers, over depth, Red & Metallic purple Thinline (except it’s actually deeper than a stock Tele) Esquire body.

as you can see, classic Tele outline with a bound edge,
Finished in nitro the front has aged pretty hard and the purple back has some fairly severe checking.
Not sure what the woods are, it’s a bit deeper than a standard Tele so
It needs longer neck bolts (supplied, along with neck plate, string ferrules & strap buttons)
He was a bit zealous with the string holes on the top face

Price ? tricky one.
The bodies cool and unique and handmade but equally it is a bit ratty so
depending on where you stand on shabby chic could probably benefit from a refin.
So for the body ? £70 posted any good ?
SOLD, SOLD, SOLD,
The bridge ? Well I think they’re £100 plus new but this one isn’t and the plating is lifting a little in a couple of places round the screw holes and I don’t have the fixing screws so £50 posted on its own or £110 on the body ?
If the Strat and the Schroeder bridge go I’ll probably route this for a humbucker and stick one of my other necks on it !
Thanks for looking
knob
Super suave Tele bridge also still available
Have now found Jack plug and Jack plate !

And in fact the pickguard screws

Dizzying levels of excitement all up in here !
So, depending upon the neck you choose this could almost be a whole guitar
