I got a pair in gold. Brasso takes them back to nickel in two minutes

Interesting. I saw your gold pair and was inspired to put up the WTB ad.

  • The guys at Gretsch Talk also use brasso to remove gold. It’s a very thin plating, comes off in seconds.

As @merlin ’s TArmonds are pro line surface mount, they will likely require shimming to get to ideal height.  There are two ways to do this.
The traditional way is to spot glue thin strips of wood to the shims to get to the correct height, but in recent years, many players are using strips of neoprene mouse mat material as shimming material.  Much less of a PITA way to get the exact pickup placement, and allows some on the fly adjustment due to compressible properties.

So, can be an easy fit. See TV Jones website for ideal pickup height in relation to the strings.

@cowmoo and @TheMarlin. Thanks for the posts and I am keen, but a little confused.

Would I not be able to drop these directly into my G6118T?

Yes but not via the two screw mount the filtertrons use. These are screwed down on the same bracing as them but with four small screws. Tom makes other mounting systems but they would require additional hardware or work. These drop straight in and are filtertron size.

  • Here they are in my silver falcon. Replaced the filtertrons with them but have gone back again.

The guy at Gabojo- https://www.gabojo.com/ ; will make a pair with any size mounts and any screw hole combination, they sound great too. No affiliation.
