Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB Humbucker Black (UNUSED)

TeleMasterTeleMaster Frets: 9175
Hey all.

Bought a SD JB humbucker in black for a guitar but it won’t go under the covers or something according to my tech. It was never installed so comes with all the bits and case etc. I was lazy returning it and missed the window so I’ll happily sell it on to someone for £75 delivered? It cost me £85 delivered.

I doubt there would be but if there were any problems we can sort it out.

Thanks.

Is it an definitely an SH-4 rather than a TB-4?

The latter has longer bobbins and wider polepiece spacing. Hence, it will not fit under a regular-spaced metal cover.

Time to take possession of a new tech, methinks.

The only thing preventing an SH-4 sliding into a Gibson-width cover is the thickness of the black tape around the bobbin sides. A small amount of force should overcome any reluctance to start the pickup going into the cover. The clamp that holds everything in alignment whilst soldering the cover pushes the pickup all the way in against the inside top surface.

EDIT: If the pickup is a TB-4, I might have a use for it.
    Be seeing you.

    What Funkfingers said.
I've literally done this last week. The SH-4 fitted under a standard 49.2mm cover, the TB-4 has had to remain uncovered.

Thanks, I’m still selling it in any case. It’s the SH-4.

The other question is, how long are the baseplate elevator screw lugs? Long/deep, like a Gibson, or short/shallow enough to fit into a Stratocaster-type guitar without fouling the bottom of the routed cavity?
    Be seeing you.
